First grape

 We moved here 2017 and found a grape tree in the garden. It was a tree planted by a person who lived in the past. There was no shelf, so the leaves mixed with weeds. After years of effort, we got a decent grape this year !

　越した時に葡萄の木を見つけました。以前住んでいた人が植えていたようです。ずっと雑草と化していたんですが、棚を作ったり介抱したりと、今年になって初めて、まともな実がなりました。８月に収穫したんですが、透明感があって宝石のような綺麗な色をしています。

Aug

I don't know what kind. Small and transparent, look like jewels.

Squeezed the grapes into juice, added sugar and boiled, I make syrup. The color is brown. The taste is honey, not grapes, strangely..!!

葡萄を絞ってジュースにしてお砂糖と煮詰めてシロップにしました。色は茶色、味はなんと蜂蜜味。美味しい！来年はワインにしたい、けど、日本の法律で簡単に試せないのが残念。

I want to make wine next year, but Japan has a strict low about alcohol and can't make easy. It's very disappointing. 

May work

 １年で唯一やる気満々の５月になりました。比較的ここは涼しくて蚊もいないのです。せっせと土を耕し、手作り肥料を混ぜ込み、種をまき、野菜を育てています。

In May, I have a lot of energy for the garden work. This is a cool and mosquito-free season here.  Mix handmade fertilizer, plow the soil and sow. 

サニーレタス Lettuce 

我が家のキッチンガーデン。ちなみに真ん中あたりにあるのは枯れた井戸です、使えなくて残念。今植えてあるのはサニーレタス、絹さや、人参、枝豆、小松菜、チンゲン菜、トマト、ナス、カリフラワー、鷹の爪など

There is an old well in the center of the kitchen garden, but unfortunately it was withered.  

　Lettuce, eggplant, cauliflower, tomatoes, some kinds of beans. 

and There are apples, grapes, and kiwis in the garden. I'm really looking forward to it. 

他にもリンゴやブドウ、キウイも今のところ順調に育っているので今からとても楽しみです。もちろん編んだり縫ったりもしています

Of course I sometimes do knitting and sewing. 

The difficult days are still going on. I hope everyone can walk with their masks off next year. 

まだ難しい日々が続いていますが、来年にはきっと皆がマスクを外して歩けますように！

Small sunflower

Seeds fell from the wild bird feeder and flowers bloomed. 

　野鳥の食べ残しの種が落ちて、花が咲きました。小さな向日葵。

時に　自然の中では可愛いことが起きるものですね。。

Vegetable Harvest

Every year planted carrot seeds, but I couldn't make a decent carrot. at last Good carrots were harvested for the first time this year !

 毎年種をまいているけど、いつもひとくちニンジンしかできなかったのに、今年初めてまともなニンジンが収穫できました。とてもうれしかったです。

It's wonderful ,but I don't know what was good for carrot... Soil and fertilizer are the same as usual. 

同じ頃に紡いでいた毛糸です。オレンジが濃かったので白と合わせてみました。

これは猫ちゃんのクッションカバーになりました。

Last month I spun orange and white yarn. it became a cushion cover for kitty.  

あと初めて植えてみたジャガイモ。キタアカリという品種です。ジャガイモは難しいよって近所の奥さんが言うんであきらめていたのですが、まあ教科書通りにやってみましたら、ちゃんと出来ました！誰かにあげるほどは量がなくて食べてしまったんですが、おいしかった！ジャガイモ堀りって面白いですね、クワを使うと傷がついたらいけないと手でひたすら掘ったんですが、犬が地面を掘る時の気持ちがなんか少しわかったような瞬間でした。

The first planted potato was successfully harvested. I did according to the textbook. 

I dug potato by hand so as not to damage potato. I felt like I understood in a moment the dog's heart while digging the soil. Certainly Fun !

The first potatoes were very delicious. 

下はオクラの花。芙蓉みたいで綺麗ですよね。私たちは花が閉じた種の部分を食べているんですね

Flower of Okra. It look like a Hibiscus and beautiful. 

今年はキュウリとオクラがなぜか豊作です。暑いからでしょうか
Cucumber and okra are also good harvest . 

オクラは、日本人ですと、湯がいて刻んで、削りたての鰹節に香りの良いお醤油をちょいとかけて頂くのが一番よろしいかと思いますが、毎日だと飽きてくる。サッと湯がいてお肉で巻いて、お好きな味付けで頂くというのも軟らかいので意外と美味しいです。

One of the way. Okra boiled a little, wrapped with meat, Eat with your favorite seasoning. Okra is soft and delicious vegetable. 

他にもトマト、ナス、ピーマン、つるむらさき。枝豆もたくさん収穫したんですが、写真を撮るのを忘れました。

暑いのに時々ウールのくつ下を編んだりする。

水分補給しっかりして、熱中症とコロナ対策しっかりされてくださいね。来年の今頃はきっと楽しい夏が待ってます

We have a lot of patience the summer because of the COVID-19 . I'm sure it will be fun next summer :) 

Strange creature

 この田舎暮らしが好きですが、もとは都会育ち、庭で見る奇妙な生き物に目を奪われることがあります。

このブログを読んでいる方は手芸を見に来ているのに、大変申し訳ないですが,

I grew up in the city so I was fascinated by the creatures in the garden I saw for the first time. 

Look photos

This is a pot made of soil. The job is very delicate and perfect shape. I like to come out this pot in the garden. 

　庭の手洗い場に設置した石鹸置きです。この、土で丁寧に造った壺が私は好きです。

とてもよくできているし、庭のどこで見かけても立派な徳利を土で造っている。

　これはドロバチが幼虫を育てる壺で、中に動けなくした餌と幼虫が入っていて、子供はそれを食べて大きくなるそうです。さっきまで入口が開いていたので、閉めたばっかり。

Bee larvae and food in the pot. I don't know this kind of bee name on English. it's not suck honey and stab people. Quiet bee, Eat insects. 

　ドロバチといっても、巣作りの最中にぼ～っと見てても刺すような気配もなく、大人しい蜂です。花の蜜を吸っているところは見たことがなくて、むしろ蛾の幼虫を捕まえてくれるので益虫といえます。見かけても駆除しないように。

大きさはタワシと比べるとわかるような気がします。

７月の長雨にはウンザリしましたね。庭では奇妙な黄色いキノコが元気にしていました。ツノマタタケというそうです。

It rained a lot every day in July. And I saw much of yellow mushroom on dead tree. 

枯れた木の隙間からニョキニョキ出てくる。中国では食べられるそうですが？１センチくらいしかないので、食材にしても大変な手間がかかりそう。

Clear yellow looks beautiful. Height 1 cm. It also lives in South America and Europe ? 

Summer garden

Hello ! I hope that you enjoying the summer !
My place is also hot like every day (30~35℃), there are more garden work .

毎日暑くなってきましたがお元気にお過ごしでしょうか？　先日の異常な大雨にはびっくりしました。被害に遭われた方々には一日でも早く平穏な生活に戻れるよう、心からお祈りいたしております。

I like to get together color in place. 
The side of the parking is an orange flower bed. 

Also orange lily and sunflower are in bloom. 

さて、庭の話になりますが、私は色が揃っているのが好きで、生地や毛糸もさることながら、洗濯物も色別に並べてしまう人なのです。
なので自然と庭の中も色を分けたくなります。上の写真は駐車場横の花壇、こちらはオレンジコーナー。

問題は１度掘り起こした球根で、はて、何色だったかわからなくなる。そこでミックスコーナーも作ってあります。

The problem is bulbs. During storage, I forget what color this bulb is.
So, I make a flowerbed with mixed colors . 

It is cute that colors mix together. 
Small flower are mixed, but it does not appear well in the photo.

Japan is a country with a lot of rain. It is necessary to keep bulbs out of soil almost. Otherwise the bulb will rot. We keeping tulips now. 

The white one in the photo is my shallow pond. It's pity that the water will leak. I wanted to see small fish. 

Many flowers are blooming also in the flower bed on the pond. 
This kind of flower can not be seen at all in winter, but it does not wither even under the snow. In the summer more flowers will bloom than last year. North American flower ? 

Phlox or Paniculata 

and Acidanthera, white marigold, and pink Gladiolus, this flower bed is  pink place.  

上は池の上の花壇に咲いているフロックスという種類の花です。うちは、園芸でいうところの「強い霜があたる」場所なのでほとんどの植物が凍って枯れていくなか、フロックスは生き残り、この夏、去年よりさらに多い花を見せてくれました。

I like also white place. This kind of flower keeps bloom for 100 days. I don't know if it is true, but I have not seen the flowers wither yet. next year I will sow more species !

big variety of Zinnia 

上は百日草。名の通り１００日間花が咲き続けるそうですが、本当に長く咲いています。種は直接撒いただけなので、来年はもっと植えたいです。こちらは白い花壇。
他にも紫、ピンク、黄色コーナーがあるのですよ

And kitchen garden 

キッチンガーデンも賑わっております。畑から台所へ直接運ばれるみずみずしい野菜、嬉しいですね。今年はししとう、トマトが豊作です。トマト甘くておいしい！

It's happy that we can harvest little vegetables but every day, from the garden to the kitchen. 

庭仕事のあとは、キウイスムージーが格別においしいです。材料は去年庭でとれたキウイを切って冷凍したもの、凍らせたバナナ、蜂蜜または砂糖、冷たい水またはミルクを少々、ミキサーにガリガリかけます。ひんやり美味しい！

After garden work, Kiwi smoothies is a wonderful drink !

Flower of Okra 

There are 2 goats in the Backyard. 

我が裏庭には、ヤギが２頭います

My goat named " Natsu" is extraordinary energetic. The meaning of "Natsu" is Summer.

When rain goes up, she is pleased. 

She likes my laughter. 

When I call out She come while jumping. 

She lives happily today as she is. Enjoy what she have now. 

I like her.

上の写真はナツ。夏らしく、この子はとてもパワフルな女の子で。雨があがれば喜び、私が笑うと喜び、名前を呼ぶとジャンプしながら喜んでやってくる。

今という時間に満足し、なんにもない毎日をただ楽しんでいる子。

And my "Wip" is this. 

It is growing little by little. 

Maybe I am off the Instagram a little, or during the summer.

First strawberry

When I had time, I was doing knitting. but after moving to the countryside, I am gardening very much. 
Japan has much rain compared to Europe ( I have only lived in Japan and Europe, so I don't know other countries) Therefore, the grass grows faster.

　東京にいた時は時間があれば編みものをしていましたが、今は庭仕事ばかりしています。庭というのは広ければ良いというものでもなくて、ちょっとあれば良いいのかもしれません。近所でも農家の人は庭師を頼んでいて、びっくりするような金額ですが、仕事はさすがに完璧です。春は見事に咲く庭木を一本は持っていて、田舎の庭は本当に綺麗です。

Farmers come to see our garden from time to time. County garden is large, many of them hire gardener. Professional job is really perfect.

I bought this strawberry in Tokyo . it was a very small planting strawberry and never made berry in the balcony of Tokyo.  
But it increased a lot since I planted in the soil of garden. 

simple pleasure 

 この苺は、東京のホームセンターで売っていた小さな苗でした。当時は肥料やったり日当たりを気にしても、ベランダでは決して実をつけなかった、花をつけても苺にはならなかった残念な苗でした。
越してすぐ土に下ろしてあげたら、１年で猛烈に増えて、今年なんとカゴいっぱい取れました。

But We need to improve the soil. because it is very sour 

庭から摘んだイチゴでジャムを作る　というシンプルな事に喜び、甘い香りに満たされます。
