Tea for eye health

 Back when Japan was still in a period of civil war, People made tea from this tree and used it to heal eye injuries. (wash the eyes with cooled tea )　According to legend, it improves your eyesight, allowing you to see up to 400 km away.　This story takes place over 600 years ago.

I suffered from "dry eyes", so I drink it once every three days. It's more effective than the medication prescribed by doctors, but you need to continue drinking that tea.

For eye injuries,　It worked well when my dog ​​injured his eye. I used it by dropping it in like eye drops (Of course, the doctor prescribed three types of eye drops for a week, but it didn't heal well. The tea helped it heal faster.)

The tea is made from dried and crushed branches and leaves, and you boil 10g of them in about 1,5 liter of water for about 10 minutes.　The taste is extremely bitter.

I have planted one tree in my garden, but it doesn't grow big right away. Then, I buy the tea leaf. 

The leaves are characterized by being made up of three leaflets joined together, and they turn salmon pink in the autumn. 

The name of the tree is　"Megusuri no ki ", English name is Nikko maple ? (Acer maximowiczianum)

It is also effective for severe burns inside the mouth. However, for pain caused by a virus, this herb Strawberry Geranium is recommended.

If blindness is a concern, you should see an ophthalmologist immediately, but for preventative measures of Glaucoma and cataracts, I recommend learning and pressing acupressure points as well as this tea.

Seeds to relieve severe pain

 　I am confident in introducing this method, but the first thing to remember is to get examined at a hospital, listen to the doctor's opinion, and receive appropriate treatment.

 In middle age, people may experience pain, not illness, due to some lifestyle habits or etc. 　In my case, I had a headache due to menopause. My blood pressure, blood tests and heart function are normal, but my heart rate is the same as an old person's, and my headaches get worse when I move.

This seed is effective for pain. Adults can eat up to two of these seeds a day. ( It is not recommended for children. )　It also works for toothaches and sore throats. Some dear old folks say it also works for cancer pains ( I'll try this out when I get cancer, one day. )

These are Japanese loquat seeds. After eating the fruit, wash the seeds thoroughly and dry them for half a day. Then, pickle them in salt that is 10% of the weight of the seeds. Pickled seeds will last for years, but I use them and give them to others, they will be gone in no time every year.

The taste is not very good. Chew them well and swallow them with water. Be careful, since it's a natural product, it takes 2-3 hours to take effect.

 My hairdresser had been suffering from a slight fever for months with no known cause. Doctors would not do anything unless the test results showed something abnormal. The fever was accompanied by hair loss and insomnia. She ate one of these seeds every morning and was completely cured. The great thing about these seeds is that it healed , like nothing had happened. I highly recommend giving them a try.

It's not good to eat too much. Even 3 pills is too much. Side effects vary from person to person, so I can't say for sure, but in my case, I couldn't sleep, One seed is enough for me. If the pain continues, take 2 seeds a day and take a nap.

Soaking the fruit in honey and mixing it with cold water makes a delicious summer drink.

This year, wild raccoons came the garden and ate almost all of my loquats. It's  a shame that the harvest day was the same as mine. They brought their baby, so I couldn't get angry.

By the ways, external wounds pain are effective the leaves . I will introduce them next time.

Down a fever with Geranium

 When you have a fever, you should go to a clinic immediately and, whether it's the flu or coronavirus, get tested and get the appropriate medication prescribed. 

 If we can always go to the hospital like that, there is no problem. But We never know what will happen in life..  We call this plant "Yukinoshita ( under the show) as the name suggests , its leaves are green even under the snow. Notice the patterns and hairs (?)on the leave.

Its English name is " Strawberry Geranium.  Find out how to grow it and plant it in the shade.

Drinking Squeezed juice from the leaves will bring down a fever.  It's also effective otitis externa of child ( apply the liquid to the tip cotton swab and place it directly into the ear ) 

 Last year, there were a lot of foreign tourists in Japan and the coronavirus was very very  prevalent.　My husband suddenly developed a high fever and seemed to be in a bad mood, so we went to the clinic and the test revealed that he had coronavirus. 

 I recommend  "Zocova , as my husband recovered quickly.

And me, I foolishly slept together with husband on the bed because I was worried him. Next day I also had a fever, but no matter how many times I was tested, neither corona nor influenza was detected. The doctor prescribed me a regular cold medicine, but even after taking it, my stomach just hurt and my fever did not go down.  So I tried an old folk remedy. After drinking this geranium juice, my fever went down immediately. 

I have decided to take another test of this juice once again, but since then I have not had a fever ...

These small white flowers are geraniums. The leaves can be rubbed well with salt to soften them and eaten as a salad. Recently, they have been added to skin lotions for their whitening properties.

I have them planted all over my garden, so if you live in Japan I can send you some seedlings.

Mosquito repellent spray

 I would like to know the scientific basis for why this liquid repels mosquitoes. I don't know which ingredient is the main cause. I have been experimenting with it for four years myself, and it seems to be effective, so I would like to introduce it to you.

All you need is gin, mint oil, and chinaberry leaves.

Place the leaves in a jar, pour in the gin and leave to steep.

When the leaves change color like this, they are done. You can remove the leaves or leave them on.

Put 30% of this liquid, add mint oil and mix well, then add the remaining water 70%.

↓In a container like this, add about 40 drops of mint oil.

It has a nice scent and doesn't cause rashes. It can be used by children, can be sprayed on the face, and doesn't stain clothes. But It's natural,  the effect doesn't last long.

In places where there are 100 mosquitoes, Stay vigilant. Cover up as much skin as possible. and you need to apply this liquid evenly to your skin. Don't forget your palms, fingers, and ears. 

There are a lot of mosquitoes in Japan of summer. The mosquito repellents sold at home improvement stores are often strong medicines containing pesticides, and have small letters saying not to put them directly on the skin. They are scary medicines. However, they cannot prevent mosquitoes 100%.

In Japan, in addiction to the common mosquito, there are also bugs called "Abu and "Buyo, whose bites are terribly itchy. If you get bitten by a large number of them, you can't sleep.. 

However, I learned good methods, If you are staying long in Japan, let's use it. 

This plant " Dokudami" grows all over Japan, and is hated :(  It loves the rain and prefers to grow densely in places with many mosquitoes. ( I saw them also in an alleyway near a hotel in Tokyo) The white flowers bloom around this season, so pick as many as you can, and

soak them in white liquor. It will be ready to use in a month. apply it to the skin bitten. 

The liquid will discolor when exposed to air, but that's not a problem, also It can be used for years.

The first summer after moving to the countryside, I went to the pharmacy. However, no matter how many times I applied ointment, it was still tooo itchy. 

This liquid medicine is an old method, but it works after just one application. ( If you are stung by a bee, leaving soaked cotton on the skin for an extended period of time )

Tea for headaches 頭痛の時のお茶

I hope that everything is fine with you and your family too. We had a good vacation, Hubby was busy making firewood and I spent a lot of time in the kitchen. We are happy to have plenty of firewood and fill our stomach with hot meal.

The daily life of working in front of computer has begun. My hubby often has headaches. Exercise is the best, but it's problem for hard walkers. I take herbs from the garden and often make tea for him.

Add boiling water to rosemary, mint, and sage. and add honey, and a little bit of ground ginger.  Effective for headaches. 

>> Mint and sage need defrosting and cover for snow, or put in the greenhouse. 

　お元気でお過ごしですか。私たちもお正月休みを満喫しました。夫は薪づくりに忙しく、私はほとんど台所にいましたが、薪がたっぷりあって温かい食事があるっていうのはなんとも幸せなことです。

それでパソコンの前で朝から晩まで仕事をする日々が始まったのですが、夫は頭痛もちで、運動をするのが一番いいのですが、なかなか難しいようです。よく作るお茶がありますので書き残します、頭痛に効くので薬を飲んでも効かない方ぜひお試しになってください。

ローズマリー、セージの葉、ミント、に熱湯を入れます、蜂蜜とすりおろした生姜を少し加えるといいです。苦みがあるのですが、楽になってきます、制限はないので量は適当で大丈夫です、ぜひお庭かベランダに常備しておくといいです。

＞＞ミントやセージは霜よけ、雪よけをなさってください。ローズマリーはマイナス９度くらいの霜ではなんともないですが雪はよくないので気を付けてください。温室があれば安心ですが。
